Peterborough United fans were understandably delighted as a seventh straight Football League win over local rivals Northampton Town pushed them closer to promotion from League One last night (April 16).

Man-of-the-match Sammie Szmodics scored twice and Jonson Clarke-Harris grabbed his 30th goal of the season in all competitions as Posh won 3-1 at the Weston Homes Stadium.

Cobblers did equalise late in the first half after Posh skipper Mark Beevers conceded a penalty.
