The 7-0 win over Accrington was the fourth time a seven-goal winning margin had been recorded at London Road after Oldham (8-1, 1969), Barrow (7-0, 1971) and Brentford (7-0, 2007).

Posh also scored seven goals in home wins over Exeter (1961), Aldershot (twice, 1961 & 1981) and Ipswich (2011) but all those matches finished 7-1.

Accrington were thrashed 8-2 with all the other matches finishing 6-0.

Last Saturday’s massive win catapulted Posh to the top of the League One scoring charts. They now have 65 goals, two more than leaders Hull City. Only Championship side Brentford can match that tally in the top four divisions of English football.

Posh have scored 43 goals at home in League One matches, 11 more than any other team. Doncaster are next best with 32.
