It was a masterclass in counter-attacking as Posh held firm in the opening stages before putting the League One strugglers to the sword with some excellent football.
Under fire Will Norris even put in a performance that will likely go some way to winning fans back around.
Here are the PT ratings for the players and the manager.
RATINGS KEY: 10 – Brilliant, 9-Outstanding, 8-Very Good, 7-Good, 6-Okay, 5-Poor, 4-Very Poor
9. JOE WARD
A threat throughout his 78 minutes on the pitch and didn't shirk his defensive responsibilities either. Big parts in two first-half goals and scored a lovely individual goal as well 9. Photo: Joe Dent
10. EPHRON MASON-CLARK
Tore the Burton defence to shreds, particularly in the first-half, with his power, pace and skill. Great cross for the opening goal and a tap-in finish for himself. He had one of his unstoppable displays 9. Photo: Joe Dent
11. JONSON CLARKE-HARRIS
A superb display of leading the line from the skipper. Won most of his headed duels, but also nifty on the floor at times including a lovely touch which started the move for the brilliant third goal. Two close-range finishes, one with head and foot and now 21 League One goals for the season. 9. Photo: David Lowndes.
12. JEANDO FUCHS (for Norburn, 69 mins).
A neat and tidy return to the side 7. Photo: Joe Dent
