Posh were held to a 1-1 draw by a defensively stubborn Oxford United to lose their play-off semi-final 2-1 on aggregate. Darren Ferguson’s side dominated the game, particularly in the second-half when they created numerous half-chances without finding a goal that would have taken the tie into extra time.
The players can hold their heads up high though and not just because of tonight’s performance. The season has been an exceptional one given the lack of confidence of so many before a ball had been kicked.

5. RONNIE EDWARDS
Too good for this limited set of forwards. A bit slow in possession at times, but it was another accomplished performance - 8. Photo: Joe Dent
6. HECTOR KYPRIANOU
A very composed and classy display. Accepted the ball well under pressure and passed it well in the main. Kept urging his teammates on - 8. Photo: Joe Dent
7. ARCHIE COLLINS
He's had a great season, but this wasn't one of his better performances. He didn't pass the ball as well as usual and there were a couple of wayward shots under pressure - 6. Photo: s
8. JOEL RANDALL
The midfielder didn't have the influence he enjoyed in the first leg, but he ran hard and worked hard. Denied a couple of goals by good blocks - 7. Photo: Joe Dent/theposh.com
