Posh were so good in the first half to battle back from going a goal down to lead 3-1 but then let their standards drop in the second half to be taken to extra time and then to trail 4-3, only to rescue themselves and come out victorious in the penalty shootout.
RATINGS KEY: 10-Brilliant, 9-Outstanding, 8-Very Good 7-Good, 6-Okay, 5-Poor, 4-Awful
9. JOEL RANDALL
An exceptional first half performance, scored and was involved in all the good Posh did. Went out of the game in the second half though and missed a couple of key chances to win the game in normal time. 7.5. Photo: Joe Dent
10. KWAME POKU
Salford never got a grip on him at any point of the game. Gave Luke Garbutt a horrible evening. Almost everything Posh did went through him and on another night could have scored a couple on another night. 8.5 Photo: Joe Dent
11. RICKY-JADE JONES
Very harshly adjudged offside from a one-on-one that was his best opening of the game, missed it anyway. Had far less of an impact than Clarke-Harris in a longer time on the pitch. 6. Photo: David Lowndes
12. JONSON CLARKE-HARRIS (for Jones 79 mins)
Once again showed his quality off the bench against this opposition. Won almost everything in the air and bundled in the all important equaliser. 8. Photo: David Lowndes
