Peterborough United’s February fixtures look friendly enough, but Doncaster’s are ferocious

On the face of it Peterborough United look to have a favourable February fixture list.

Crewe, who are ninth and who visit the Weston Homes Stadium on Saturday (February 6), are the highest placed opponents for Posh this month, but this season has shown how dangerous it is to judge a team solely on their league position.

Posh have already failed to beat bottom club Burton and struggling Bristol Rovers at home this season and their only defeat at the Weston Homes Stadium came against Blackpool who are currently 12th.

Posh have also lost away to AFC Wimbledon (22nd) and Shrewsbury (17th) this season so they will take nothing for granted in February in games at mid-table sides Gillingham, Blackpool and Plymouth.

Posh have two of the current bottom four (Wimbledon and Wigan) to play at London Road and host a fading Ipswich side next Tuesday (February 9, 7pm).

Third-placed Doncaster have a ferocious February fixture list with a home match against promotion rivals Oxford this Saturday and then games against challengers Sunderland, Hull, Accrington Stanley and Ipswich as well as a tricky match at Blackpool.
