Peterborough United won't be taking any risks with Garbett and another set back for Adebisi
Peterborough United will continue to adopt a safety first policy towards injured midfielder Matt Garbett.
Garbett was a surprise absentee from Saturday’s 6-1 demolition of Wigan Athletic on Saturday. He was then spotted watching the game wearing a protective boot as a result of a foot injury.
Posh boss Luke Williams insists rushing him back into action risks long-term damage and the 23 year-old has a World Cup to take part in later in the year.
Williams said: “Matt’s problem needs protection and constant monitoring. It’s a minor injury that could become a major one if we don’t look after it. We also want to send him to the World Cup in the best possible shape, although believe me he would play now if he could.

"We will take no risks and we will monitor him until we see the key markers are improving. I’m very confident by taking this action we will see a relatively swift return. I’m in no doubt it’s the right course of action.”
Unlucky left-back Rio Adebisi has suffered another setback in his fight against injury.
Williams added: “Rio is an inspiration, He has had another setback, but he has such a strong mind and work ethic and he remains so positive around the rest of the group. I’d hate to come up against him when he does get back on the pitch as he’s going to be so fired up.”
