Peterborough United won’t be selling Siriki Dembele ahead of the transfer deadline despite multiple bids and there has been interest in other Posh players
Dembele, who was in dazzling form in the 2-0 derby win at Northampton on Saturday, has been the subject of multiple bids from higher level clubs this season, but Posh are under no pressure to sell following the £10 million departure of Ivan Toney to Championship side Brentford in August.
Posh will use a similar tactic with Dembele (24) by keeping him at the Weston Homes Stadium to help the club in their aim of winning promotion to the Championship this season. If Posh do go up they would offer Dembele a lucrative contract to stay, but failure would probably lead to the sale of a star asset who would then have one year of his current deal to go.

Posh director of football Barry Fry said: “We have no interest in selling Siriki. We have had bids for him, but they’ve all been rejected because the manager, the co-owners and myself agreed we would not sell another player this season after Ivan Toney.
“Darragh MacAnthony sat Siriki down when we were at St George’s Park in the summer and explained the situation to him. If he helps us get up, and he is a key man, then we would probably offer him a lucrative contract to stay, but if we don’t go up it would be difficult to keep him.”
Dembele has been a revelation since moving to a more central attacking position in January.
