Peterborough United Women hit bottom club for six to move closer to the top of the table
Unbeaten Posh Women hit bottom club Lincoln United for six to move to within two points of top spot in National Midlands Division One.
It’s now 11 wins in 12 outings for Posh who have two games in hand on leaders Boldmere St Michaels. The table-toppers didn’t have a game today. Posh can go top this Sunday when they host Sutton Coldfield at PIMS Park (2pm kick off), while Boldmere entertain improving Northampton Town.

Lincoln, who now have one point from 13 matches, were never likely to test Posh, although they battled well to restrict their visitors to a single first-half goal from top-scorer Jess Rousseau who followed up after a Rebecca Mears shot was saved.
The home goalkeeper was in fine form, although she needed the woodwork to come to the rescue when captain Keir Perkins took a potshot at goal before the break.

Poppie Brown made it 2-0 on 52 minutes as her powerful effort from the edge of the box cracked against the underside of the crossbar and over the line and Mears made it 3-0 when arriving perfectly to get on the end of a Perkins cross.
Hayley James made it 4-0 and Rousseau added her second with a terrific curling shot from long range for 5-0. In added time full-back Evie Driscoll-King completed the one-sided scoreline after accepting an astute lay-off from substitute Tara Kirk.
Posh: Corry, Connor (sub Osker 62 mins), Driscoll-King, Rousseau (sub Kirk 80 mins), Brown (sub Stanford 73 mins), Perkins, Pitt, Wilshaw (sub Rai 62 mins), Clarke (sub Lawlor 80 mins), James, Mears. Unused subs: Sharpe, Bennett.
