Peterborough United Women are raring to go again after five weeks without a game
Peterborough United Women will try and take some pent-up frustration out on Notts County in their National Midlands Division One game at PIMS Park on Sunday (2pm kick off).
Title favourites Posh haven’t played since losing 7-0 at Burnley in an FA Women’s Cup tie on December 14. They’ve suffered back-to-back postponements due to poor weather in 2026 which and a month off has cost them top spot to Boldmere St Michaels.

With three games in hand and a five-point gap to bridge Posh are still in a great place as they get ready to tackle a Notts County team they’ve already beaten twice this season.
Key defender Hayley James should return to the Posh squad after an injury absence.
Posh boss Jake Poole said: “It’s been a frustrating period for us because the players put in a lot of work over Christmas, but there’s not a lot we can do about the weather. The postponements could help us in the long run as we might well end up playing games on better surfaces which would suit us and we have players coming back, but right now we just want to start playing again.
"We’ve had to be creative as far as training is concerned, but the hard work has continued and the players are in good spirits. The squad is almost at full strength again and the squad depth we have is a big advantage.
"We have beaten Notts County twice, but we we have also seen they are a team with threats. They are a strong counter-attacking team that is well organised out of possession. If they turn up at their best that are tough to play against, but we also know we can hurt them.”
Posh won 4-1 at County on the opening day of the league season and then 5-1 in an FA Cup tie.
