Peterborough United winger and the greatest feeling in football, plus praise for teenage debutant
Peterborough United goal hero Cian Hayes was thrilled to experience the greatest feeling in football again.
The 22 year-old winger sealed a 2-0 League One victory at Wycombe Wanderers after coming on as a substitute early in the second half at Adams Park.

It’s been a long road back from a knee injury for Hayes who scored for the third time off the bench this season when converting an outstanding cross from fellow wide man Kyrell Lisbie.
He won’t be resting on his laurels though as Posh are back in action at Stevenage on Tuesday (January 27). Hayes scored the equaliser in a 1-1 draw in that fixture last season.
"It was nice to make an impact,” Hayes told the Posh Plus service. “It’s been a while. The gaffer just told me to provide some energy and to try and make something happen. It was a great ball from Kyrell and once he had found me I had to do my job and score and I managed to tuck it between the goalkeeper’s legs so job done!
“I’ve missed that feeling massively of scoring in front of our fans so it was a great moment for me. It was the first time I’d won at this ground as well so it was good to tick that off.
“We deserved to win, but we don’t have time to look at the table too hard because it just changes so much every week. It wasn’t so long ago that we were bottom and being written off.
"We will just keep the same mentality and try to win as many games as possible and I will try and make sure I'm ready to go whenever the manager sends for me.”
The substitutes all made a big impact at Adams Park including 17 year-old debutant Patryk Sykut and that didn’t surprise Hayes at all.
"I’ve played with Pat in the under 21s so I knew he was a very good player,” Hayes added. “He’s one we can get excited about and if he gets more chances, and I’m sure he will, he will stand out even more.”
