MacAnthony also played down suggestions he had been reprimanded by the EFL for offering the Carabao Cup Final tickets he is entitled to as a club owner as a competition prize through his youtube channel.

Today’s Dail Mail (February 17) said the EFL had raised eyebrows at the offer and subsequently got in touch with MacAnthony to ensure ground safety regulations would be met and that winners would be screened to ensure they were not subject to stadium bans.

“First time I’ve heard that I upset the EFL,” MacAnthony added.
