Posh will be backed by a sell-out away following of 1055 at Cheltenham as fans clamour to see the opening day of the season despite travel chaos caused by a series of strikes.
I have picked the team I would start, not the side I predict Grant McCann will put out.
The main considerations have been the injury doubts hanging over Nathan Thompson and Joe Ward, which could allows one youngster to make his league debut.
I will be employing the 4-3-3 formation.

9. HARRISON BURROWS
Joel Randall think he has done enough to start on Saturday but I am not so sure, I think Burrows has looked sharp in pre-season and putting him at left back is a waste of his talent. If you're going to have Clarke-Harris up front, crosses need to come into the box. Burrows has showed himself better at that than Randall. Photo: Joe Dent/theposh.com

10. KWAME POKU
Played himself into my team on the back of the impressive performance against Hull. Could be a breakout year for Poku and Posh will need him if they are to navigate their way out of the division this time, without Dembele. Photo: Joe Dent/theposh.com

11. JONSON CLARKE-HARRIS
Posh's "warrior" as McCann called him, I'm expecting big things from him this season given how he seems to have taken to captaincy. A strong bet for the golden boot. Photo: Joe Dent/theposh.com

12. THE SUBSTITUTES
Assuming neither Cartwright and Thompson are fit, I would go with an attacking bench of Will Lakin, Josh Knight, Ben Thompson, Joel Randall, Joe Ward, Ricky-Jade Jones, Jack Marriott. Photo: Joe Dent/theposh.com
