Peterborough United striker is in the running for a major award

Peterborough United striker Jonson Clarke-Harris is in the running to win the December player-of-the-month prize in League One.

Clarke-Harris, a £1 million summer signing from Bristol Rovers, scored five goals in four League One games last month, including a 17-minute first-half hat-trick in a 4-1 win over Rochdale at the Weston Homes Stadium.

The 26 year-old is up against forwards Owen Dale of Crewe and Brennan Johnson of Lincoln City and goalkeeper Jack Stephens of Oxford United.

Former Posh defender Rhys Bennett has been nominated for the League Two award. Bennett now plays for Carlisle.

League One manager of the month nominations for December are Steve Cotterill (Shrewsbury), David Artell (Crewe), Neil Critchley (Blackpool) and Karl Robinson (Oxford).
