Posh host Chelsea Under-21s in the Papa John’s Trophy on Tuesday night (November 22).
The PT would stick with the 4-3-3 because a game of this magnitude does not warrant playing both Jack Marriott and Jonson Clarke-Harris.
Instead, there are players that should be given opportunities to prove themselves.

5. NATHAN THOMPSON
It seems unlikely that Benji Mensah will be ready to start so Thompson will have to continue there in the absence of any other options, the same as Butler. Photo: Joe Dent

6. BEN THOMPSON
It was a surprise to see Hector Kyprianou come into the midfield ahead of Ben Thompson on Saturday. Thompson looked the most impressive of the substitutes when he came on and should get a chance to play in his natural position. Photo: Joe Dent

7. HARRISON BURROWS
To keep on the front foot, Posh should deploy Burrows in a slightly deeper midfield role. Hopefully having him and Randall might lead to some creativity. Photo: Joe Dent

8. JOEL RANDALL
Why not try something a little different with Randall? He did show some early promise in a more central position and McCann said he was going to bring him on as a ten before Mason-Clark got injured on Saturday. So let's start him in an advanced midfield role against Chelsea. Photo: Joe Dent
