Peterborough United players saw more international action on Tuesday

Peterborough United central defenders David Okagbue and George Nevett saw European Under 21 Championship qualifying action on Tuesday.

Okagbue played 90 minutes as Ireland won 1-0 in Kazakhstan, while Nevett also played a full game as Wales were beaten 4-0 in Denmark. The Irish goal was scored in the final minute by Oisin Gallagher, a Lincoln City player who has spent time on loan at Peterborough Sports, on his debut.

Both players also played 90 minutes in matches last week. Okagbue, who now faces a long trek back home ahead of a Good Friday match at Luton Town for Posh, played in Ireland’s 1-1 draw with Moldova in Dublin, while Nevett starred as Wales beat Moldova 2-0 in Newport.

Meanwhile former Posh star Ephron Mason-Clark is one game away from a World Cup Finals appearance. Mason-Clark made his international debut in the early hours of last Friday morning and helped Jamaica to a 1-0 qualifying win over New Caledonia in Mexico.

Jamaica now face DR Congo in Mexico tonight (10pm kick off) for a place in the World Cup Finals this summer. Former Posh promotion hero Gaby Zakuani is an advisor and scout for DR Congo.
