There is talk of Football League games taking place behind closed doors starting from this weekend with a decision expected later today (March 12). Posh are due at Bolton Wanderers for a League One fixture on Saturday (March 14).

Ferguson is against matches taking place without fans.

“We are obviously in the middle of a very serious situation and it seems inevitable there will be a stoppage at some time,” Ferguson said. “So the sooner the better for me. It’s unlikely this problem is going away quickly and the wellbeing of everyone is most important

“It’s been quite unsettling really. Not knowing whether we will be playing behind closed doors or not playing at all.

“For me playing without fans would be wrong. If we stopped now there would be plenty of time to catch the games up in May.

“I watched a bit of the PSG game last night. That was behind closed doors and it just doesn’t seem right.

“We are the business end of the season. The excitement has been building up and it would be wrong to deny fans the chance to be a part of it.

“We are in the entertainment business after all.”
