Peterborough United linked with move for highly-rated Wrexham youngster
Peterborough United have been linked with a move for Wrexham midfielder Harry Ashfield.
Posh have been linked with a move for the 20-year-old Wrexham midfielder by respected journalist Pete O’Rourke, who claims that Posh have made an approach.

Posh have lost Archie Collins this summer and have also placed Donay O’Brien-Brady on the transfer list.
The central midfielder is contracted to Wrexham but ended the season on loan at League Two side Cheltenham Town after joining them on loan on Deadline Day.
He went onto make 17 appearances in League Two (9 starts) and scored two goals as Steve Cotterill’s side stayed out of trouble and finished in 18th place.
In the first half of the season, he had come off the bench once for Wrexham and started two League Cup ties, scoring in a 3-2 victory away at Preston.
Ashfield made his debut in the EFL Trophy at the age 17 2023 and played five times in the competition in the 2024/25 season. He started the semi-final against Posh which Posh won on penalties on their way to back-to-back titles.
At the end of that season, he won the club’s Academy Player of the Year award.
The highly-rated creative midfielder was called up to the Wales U21 squad for the first time in March 2026 but is yet to make his debut for his country.
Posh enjoy a good working relationship with Wrexham, having taken Tom O’Connor and Jacob Mendy on loan last season and then negotiated a deal in January to sign Mendy permanently in order to allow O’Connor to return to Wales after being ruled out for the season.
