Liverpool and Arsenal are understood to be monitoring Otasowie with a view to making him a permanent signing.

Posh are light in central midfield areas, but are known to be trying to bring Reece Brown back to the club on loan from Huddersfield. Posh released centre-back Rhys Bennett at the end of last season.

Otasowie is a United States youth international who made his first-team debut for Wolves in a Europa League tie last season and has sat on the substitutes’ bench at a couple of Premier League games.

He signed a new contract at Molineux in January.
