Peterborough United haven’t yet ruled speedy striker Ricky-Jade Jones out of Tuesday night’s League One game at Leyton Orient.

Jones had to be helped off the pitch after suffering an ankle injury early in the second-half of Saturday’s 3-2 home win over Bristol Rovers. He is a doubt for the trip to East London, but he’s also known to be a quick healer. Jones scored his first League One goal of the season in that game.

Posh boss Darren Ferguson has revealed Chris Conn-Clarke will be out for six weeks after damaging his collar bone in the same game and fellow forward Bradley Ihionvien could make his comeback from a calf injury at League One title favourites Birmingham City on Saturday.

“Ricky is a doubt, but he is also a quick healer,” Ferguson said. “We will have to wait 24 hours to see how he is before we make a final decision. Chris will be out for a while, probably six weeks or so, as he needs an operation and Bradley could be back for Saturday, but if not then, definitely for the Wigan game the following Tuesday.

"Injuries are part and parcel of football and you have to deal with them. We’ve had a few already, but we have a squad for a reason.”

Midfielder Ryan De Havilland will step up his return to fitness by playing an hour for Posh Under 21s in a Northants Hillier Senior Cup tie at Peterborough Sports on Tuesday (7.45pm).
