Peterborough United handed Pompey test in the Papa John’s Trophy

Peterborough United will host League One rivals Portsmouth in the last 16 of the Papa John’s Trophy competition.

Portsmouth have a fantastic recent record in the competition winning it in 2019 and reaching the final in 2020. That final against Salford has yet to be played.

Posh won the EFL Trophy in 2014.

Portsmouth beat Posh 2-0 in a League One game at Fratton Park last Saturday.

The tie will be played week commencing January 11.

Full draw: North: Tranmere v Leicester U21s, Lincoln v Accrington, Sunderland v Port Vale, Hull v Fleetwood.

South: Bristol Rovers v Wimbledon, Northampton v MK Dons, Cambridge v Oxford, Posh v Portsmouth.
