The Peterborough Telegraph asked Posh fans to reveal who they would like the club to sign this month, within reason meaning no nominations for Lionel Messi or Ivan Toney.
Here are the suggestions along with a comment on their suitability..
1.
REECE STAUNTON (pictured left). Club: Bradford City. Position: Centre-back. Age: 19. Nomination: Reece Staunton is an excellent prospect on ‘Football Manager’. I just sold him to Arsenal for £10m! @JeesicaaAC Swanny says: ‘A centre-back could be a priority in the summer, not now. At (just) 19 though, the sort of player to interest Posh for sure.
2.
CHARLIE KIRK (pictured left). Club: Crewe. Position: Attacking midfielder. Age: 23. Nominated by @juppy95. Swanny says: 'Kirk would be a class addition who would fit nicely into our 4-2-3-1 formation. He would be perfect in a wide role behind Jonson Clarke-Harris. Scored against Posh earlier this season, one of four goals he's netted this campaign.
3.
JACK MARRIOTT. Club: Derby County. Position: Striker. Age: 26. Nominated by: @mikeyPosh58. Swanny says: 'It's a lovely thought, but a return to Posh is unlikely for a man who reportedly multiplied his wages tenfold when he left the club. After a decent first season with the Rams, Marriott's career has stalled after a change of manager and injuries. He's injured now and hasn't played since November 7. But if Derby do want help in restoring his match fitness and a deal could be done on his wages....'.
4.
KYLE DEMPSEY (pictured left): Club: Gillingham. Position: Central midfield. Age: 25. Nominated by @mikeyposh58. Swanny says: 'Forget it. Only moved to the Gills in the summer and he's much more of a Steve Evans midfielder than a Darren Ferguson midfielder so he won't be returning to London Road.'
