Peterborough United fans on the chances of promotion and the possibility of Ivan Toney playing for Liverpool!’

Peterborough United fans were the usual mix of positive and negative after yesterday’s (February 29) 1-1 League One draw at Burton.

Some think automatic promotion is now beyond Posh, but others are wonderfully optimistic, especially as club talisman Ivan Toney can now return to action after serving a two-match suspension.

Here are the pick of the fans’ comments as told to @PTAlanSwann on Twitter.

‘Top 2 doable, but unlikely. Probably need 8 wins from a relatively kind run-in which includes 6 home games & trips to Rochdale/Bolton. It’s by no means far fetched. Posh a different beast with Toney in the side than without. An injury to Toney would make it all but impossible.’

@ReportPosh

‘We’ve lost too many games to consider top 2, and I think we’ll even miss out on play offs. There’s a lot resting on Ivan Toney’s shoulders so let’s hope he can inspire the team to success.”

@steverodz

‘Play-offs at best now’

@Dorsetposh

‘Win at Coventry and we go up,’

@gmac193

‘Posh haven’t blown it, but we’ll have to beat Coventry, Sunderland and Pompey to have a decent chance of top two. I’m still optimistic now that Ivan Toney is back.’

@poshpig3008

‘Posh might just get a play-off place if results fall nicely.’

@14obrien14

‘Sixth at best.’

‘We will not make the top two, but will win the play-off final with Ivan Toney getting the winner before signing for Liverpool!’

@tpdDunn

‘Automatic promotion is a bit far-fetched barring a miracle courtesy of Ivan, but play-offs are definitely achievable.’

@kelansarson

‘Why are the automatic promotion places far fetched? We’re 6 points off top, 30 points to play for and Sunderland, Portsmouth and Coventry all to play (sort of games we win) it’s completely open for anyone in the top 10. Can’t see it happening, but it would hardly be a miracle.’

@jozefthemad

‘Blown top two, but still confident of top six,’

@windystu24

‘It’s going to be tight, 6 points off top can’t afford to drop any more points.’

‘Typical negative Posh fans reaction. A loss and a draw after 6 wins on the bounce and you would think the season is over. Ivan Toney back and 6 points off top with 30 points to play for. Chill out! Top 2 for me.’
