Peterborough United fans after draw at Lincoln City as former player goes on the attack: ‘Sell Dembele, not all the ref’s fault, but Posh should have had a penalty and Lincoln should have had a red card, good performance, decent point, but it’s likely to be the play-offs for Fergie’s men’

Peterborough United fans were happy enough with a point from an away trip to League One leaders Lincoln City, but not so happy with the performance of referee Will Finnie, home skipper Liam Bridcutt or wantaway Posh striker Siriki Dembele.

Typically former Posh centre-back Gaby Zakuani didn’t mince his words afterwards.

Good point for Posh in the end, should have had a penalty as well, horrendous performance by the ref, probably still in Bridcutt’s pocket as we speak.

A solid point, considering we were 10 against 12 in the second half. We need to work out a way to play with maximum intensity for a full game and have to stop conceding such soft goals, though.

@JohnVerrall

Having seen Charlton, Accy, Hull, Sunderland, Ipswich, Lincoln and Posh up close this weekend, certainly nothing to fear if we can find our scoring mojo

@Rutlandspinner

Best first half of the season, fluid, composed.

Poor marking & decision making at corner = goal. Not the ref’s fault.

Poor decision making led to penalty. Not the ref’s fault.

Poor judgement by Thompson. Not the ref’s fault.

Persistent fouling needed caution. Ref’s fault.

Man of the match Kent.

@Fig428

I thought Liam Bridcutt did an excellent job of refereeing the game.

Decent performance. Should have had a penalty. A few good performances Kent, Pym and Taylor. Thompson worries me. A very good player, but gives away too many fouls. Always a candidate to be sent off.

Good performance and decent point at the league leaders. Need a few more goals in the team.

Young lads providing good depth to the squad.

@DazMoody

In a crowded field that was by a distance the worst refereeing performance I’ve witnessed. No problems with Lincoln’s penalty. Posh should definitely had one in the second half and how Bridcutt remained on the pitch after his early booking was beyond me.

@JeffNewson

Szmodics MOM first half, but probably Taylor overall. Posh aren’t ruthless enough. Lincoln there for the taking first half, but they were never going to be that poor again second half.

@philbeck1981

Must kill off teams when on top. Excellent point though.

High press and good tempo 1st half and a deserved lead. Bit static at set pieces second half. Ref was inconsistent and gave Bridcut a free pass. Lincoln have some very good young hungry players. Good point on road. Taylor MOM.

@scarboroughsss

Possibly the best 45 mins of season 1st half. Great energy off ball & moved it well. 1st 20 of 2nd becoming worryingly familiar, lacked intensity, too passive & struggled to get ball into final 3rd. Did well with 10 men after shaky 5 mins or so. Take the point! Mom Taylor or Pym.

@ReportPosh

Game of 2 halves. Posh should have had a penalty, Bridcutt should have seen 2nd yellow. Other than that, a point against an in-form league leader, after 25 days without footballMOM = Kent.

@BULLY1934

Decent point in the end. Should have had a pen from the free kick. Bridcutt had ref in his pocket. Our entire midfield disappeared second half. We did fear the ref.

Too much faffing about when ahead. Pretty in possession, but no killer instinct. Run at teams - League 1 defenders crumble. Dembele - flatters, no end product. Sell him. Such a shame that most players’ hard work not rewarded. Conclusion - promotion only likely via playoffs.
