Peterborough United face a hectic second-half of the season after rearranging their postponed matches

Posh have 28 League One matches to play and they are still in the EFL Trophy

Posh, who will play an in-house friendly tomorrow (January 2), host Portsmouth in a last-16 Trophy tie on Tuesday, January 12 so they have a maximum of four matches left in the competition.

Posh have now rearranged their four postponed matches and face seven matches in 22 days in January (including the Trophy) and at least seven matches in 22 days in February. If Posh beat Pompey, the quarter-finals of the EFL Trophy are scheduled for February 2 which would mean eight games in the months

Posh, who are fifth, already had four Tuesday League One matches scheduled in 2021 including the longest trip of the season to Plymouth in February.

Posh will have to rearrange the game at Gillingham on February 16 again if they reach the EFL Trophy semi-finals. The final of the Trophy is currently scheduled for March 15, the day after Posh are due to host Portsmouth. Pompey have yet to play the 2019/2020 Trophy Final against Salford!

Posh are without a game tomorrow when there are some key League One matches including Accrington v Portsmouth, AFC Wimbledon v Lincoln, Bristol Rovers v Blackpool, Hull v Charlton, Northampton v Sunderland.

Fleetwood, Rochdale and Shrewsbury are the latest clubs to call matches off because of covid-related issues.
