Peterborough United co-owner Darragh MacAnthony names his all-star League One team from the 2019-20 season and risks irritating his club’s fanbase with his manager of the year nomination!

Peterborough United co-owner Darragh MacAnthony has dished out his end-of-season plaudits and accepts his nomination for manager of the year might irritate Posh fans.

MacAnthony has singled out Wycombe Wanderers boss Gareth Ainsworth for high praise stating: “I know it might irritate Posh fans, but Gareth Ainsworth is my manager of the year in League One. Forget all the other nonsense as Gareth did a great job throughout the season.”

Wycombe were the club to benefit at Posh’s expense from League One final positions being determined by a points-per-game average.

The Chairboys climbed from eighth to third as a result and then won the League One play-offs to reach the Championship for the first time in the club’s history.
