Peterborough United chasing one of the best home records in the club’s Football League history

And they will a game fewer than usual at London Road this campaign because of Bury’s expulsion from the League before the start of the season.

Posh have won 12 and drawn three of their 17 games at the Weston Homes this season.

They have won their last five at home and could easily win their final five as the teams still to visit are all currently in the bottom half of the League One table.

Out-of-form Bristol Rovers are next up on March 21 followed by a televised game against Blackpool on Sunday, March 29.

Posh then host MK Dons on Good Friday (April 10) and complete their programme against Shrewsbury (April 18) and Tranmere on the final day of the season on May 3.

Posh have only ever gone through a whole Football League season without losing a home game once, a feat achieved by the Division Four champions of the 1973-74 campaign. They won 19 and drew four of their 23 home matches.

The only other Posh team to win more than 16 League games games also won the Fourth Division title in the club’s first League season of 1960-61. That free-scoring outfit won 18 of 23 home matches.

Since relegation from the Championship in 2013 Posh have won 14, 10, 9, 9, 12 and 9 home games in a season respectively.

Posh (39pts) have the third best home record in League One this season behind Wycombe (42) and Portsmouth (41).

Posh need to improve their away record though to maintain their push for automatic promotion.

Posh have won five and lost eight of their 18 away games in League One this season which is the ninth best record in League One.

Posh will fancy their chances of winning at rock-bottom Bolton on Saturday (March 14) and at Rochdale on April 25, but they also have much tougher-looking away matches at leaders Coventry (April 4) and promotion rivals Sunderland on Easter Monday (April 13).
