Peterborough United boss is League One’s manager of the month for October, but Dembele misses out on player award

Peterborough United manager Darren Ferguson is the League One manager of the month for October.

Posh won six and drew one of seven games in the month to soar to the top of the table. Ferguson beat Lee Bowyer (Charlton), John Coleman (Accrington) and Kenny Jackett (Portsmouth) to the prize.

Ferguson said: “It’s a team of the month award rather than a manager of the month award. My staff have been superb in what has been a very challenging month and the players have been a credit to themselves and to the club with how they have conducted themselves.”

Posh star Siriki Dembele missed out on the League One player of the month award which went to Charlton ‘keeper Ben Amos who collected six clean sheets in August.

Former Posh striker Ivan Toney is the Championship player of the month for October. Toney is now at Brentford.

The judging panel is EFL expert Don Goodman, EFL Communications Direcgtor Mark Rowan and Sky Bet EFL trader Ivor Davies.
