Despite picking up 16 points from a possible 21, including victories over rivals Milton Keynes and Cambridge, McCann missed out to Plymouth boss Steven Schumacher.

The boss of the table-toppers scooped the prize after leading his side to an unbeaten month with six wins and a draw out of seven- including wins away at Wycombe, at home to Sheffield Wednesday and a 4-2 Devon derby victory over Exeter.

Sheffield Wednesday’s Darren Moore and Ipswich’s Kieran McKenna were also nominated.

Bristol Rovers striker Aaron Collins has won the Player of the Month prize for his three goals and three assists in the month. Posh face Rovers next Saturday (November 19).

Ex-Posh and now Stevenage manager Steve Evans also missed out; with Walsall’s Michael Flynn taking the League Two award.

The winners were chosen by a panel consisting of former Barnsley manager Danny Wilson, Sky Sports’ EFL expert Don Goodman, and Sky Bet EFL trader Ivor Davies.
