It finished 2-0 to Championship side Luton Town on Tuesday, although there were a few promising displays from Posh players.
Ratings key: 10-Outstanding, 9-Excellent, 8-Very good, 7-Good, 6-Okay, 5-Poor, 4-Very poor.
5. RONNIE EDWARDS
Strolled through the game untroubled after shocking us all by almost losing possession in his own penalty area early on. Won some headers and timed his tackles well 7. Photo: Joe Dent/theposh.com
6. BEN THOMPSON
The summer signing is an all action midfielder who popped up everywhere in this game. Not all his work was precise and he should have scored soon after Luton's first goal, but it was encouraging to see a central midfielder in a scoring position. Flies into tackles in the manner of someone who will pick up a few cautions, but can use the ball well. One excellent late cross almost led to a Posh consolation goal 7. Photo: Joe Dent/theposh.com
7. HECTOR KYPRIANOU
Another midfield summer signing who lookede quite stylish in the first-half when he won the ball and used it wisely in the main. Not so effective at the start of the second half and then picked up an injury that forced him off the pitch with around 20 minutes to go 7. Photo: Joe Dent/theposh.com
8. SAMMIE SZMODICS
He rather spoilt a busy and largely effective display with some weak finishing. It looks obvious where he's going to try and place his finish. Some of his passing was decent and he was impressively industrious 6.5. Photo: Joe Dent/theposh.com
