Peterborough transfer news: Dembele future latest as League One deals hot up

Peterborough United are expected to keep hold of star striker Siriki Dembele on deadline day but there could be some interesting League One deals before the window shuts.

Posh have had a number of clubs showing interest in their players after a run of good form, though that was ended by Shrewsbury Town at the weekend with a 2-0 defeat.

One player in particular attracting attention has been out-of-favour striker Mo Eisa. The club’s record signing hasn’t played for a number of weeks now, and the club could be open to letting him leave, though would be unlikely to get much return on the reported £1.2million they paid for the player two years ago.

And chairman Darragh MacAnthony revealed that they had received a couple of 'derisory’ offers for the player from clubs. Could there be movement today?

Another record signing could be on the move today. Will Grigg is the most expensive transfer in League One history but Sunderland, having completed the signing of Ross Stewart last night from Ross County, are keen to offload the player today.

The 29-year-old has been a huge disappointment since his high-profile move two years ago, and there are a host of League One sides interested in taking him, including Oxford United and Shrewsbury Town.

Shrewsbury, fresh from that win at the weekend over Posh, could be one of the busiest League One teams today, as they look to add three or four players to their ranks before the window shuts, similar to Oxford.

Elsewhere at the top end of the division, Hull City look set to be quiet while Doncaster Rovers’ business has all but been done – though they are braced just in case they get a bid for one of their main defenders from Preston North End.

And Portsmouth have received a knockback in their hopes of bolstering their forward line as they continue their promotion push.

It promises to be a busy end to the window, which shuts at 11pm. Here’s a list of some of the big deals that could go through in League One before the deadline.
