He showed an eye for goal (seven in 11 games) at Posh while on loan from Coventry in 1984 and he signed permanently that summer.

He was Posh top scorer in his first full season which included two goals in an FA Cup defeat of Cambridge United, but after falling out with Wile he strugled for form the following season.

‘He left Posh for a spell in Swedish foootball in 1986, but returned to Posh six months later following the appointment of Noel Cantwell as manager.

‘Cantwell exploited his pace by using him as a winger.’

The mystery man made 138 Posh appearances between 1984 and 1987 scoring 34 goals.

Yesterday’s answer: Paul Culpin.
