Who is the mystery man?

Guess who this Posh player is from the description taken from Matt Hill’s ‘Peterborough United Who’s Who’ book published in 2002.

‘After failing to make the grade at Leicester City in the early 1980s, he joined Nuneaton Borough where his goals attracted attention. First Division Coventry signed him for £50k, a then record sum for a non-league player, but after just two appearances for the Sky Blues he joined Northampton where he formed a formidable partnership with Tony Adcock. After enduring two years with Cobblers, Mark Lawrenson signed him for Posh for £40k and the player commented ‘I will blast us up the leagues’. He made his Posh debut in a 4-3 win over Exeter and scored his first goal in a 2-1 win at Rochdale. He once top scored for Posh over a season despite making only 21 appearances. He left Posh, after 40 appearances and 16 goals, for Hereford in 1992.’

Answer and another poser tomorrow (Tuesday).
