I’ve therefore ditched the three centre-back formation which hasn’t helped Posh defensively anyway (0-6 in the last two Championship matches) for a midfield diamond system which manager Grant McCann at least knows well from his playing days.
A more positive approach might just take a Bournemouth side, who haven’t been playing particularly well anyway. by surprise. If Posh can at least take the lead who knows what will happen?
I’m assuming goalkeeper Steven Benda and centre-back Frankie Kent have recovered from illness and that Jack Taylor is fit enough to start.

9. JACK TAYLOR
Taylor has to start if fit. I'm not sure the tip of the diamond is his best position, but he has a goal threat which you can't say about any other midfielder.

10. JACK MARIOTT
I'm giving Ricky-Jade Jones a rest and recalling Marriott who looked reasonably sharp in his substitute appearance at Huddersfield. Whether or not any teammate can spot his well-timed runs is another matter, but we live in hope.

11. CALLUM MORTON
Morton and Marriott linked up to score a goal at Fulham - the only one Posh have scored in their last eight Championship matches so let's see if a partnership can develop.

12. THE SUBSTITUTES
I've given up on Clarke-Harris influencing a game so Joe Ward, Ricky-Jade Jones, Sammie Szmodics (pictured), Jorge Grant, Ronnie Edwards, Oliver Norburn and Dai Cornell are on my bench.
