Midfielder Jack Taylor is expected to be fit for the League One visit of Crewe Alexandra on Saturday (February 6), although there is still a slight concern over his calf problem.

But teenage centre-back Ronnie Edwards is expected to sit on the sidelines for six-to-eight weeks because of a thigh strain.

Taylor limped out of Saturday’s 2-0 defeat at Shrewsbury and will miss the Papa John’s Trophy quarter-final tie at Tranmere Rovers tomorrow.

“Jack says he is fine, but he said he was fine before the Shrewsbury game,” Posh boss Darren Ferguson said. “However, he will definitely be involved in the Crewe match if he carries on as he is.

“Ronnie is having some terrible luck. He missed 30 days training because he was self-isolating and last Friday he felt a problem in his thigh and a scan has revealed some damage.

“That’s a blow for him and for us because reagardless of his age he is a very good player. He would definitely have played at Tranmere.”

Feguson is expected to make numerous changes to his starting line-up tomorrow, although two players who would have expected to have been involved, Ryan Broom and Serhat Tasdemir, are set to have left Posh on loan by the end of today.
