Good stuff from Gustav who finally gets a reward for his dedication and hard work at Peterborough United
Gustav Lindgren believes a 5-0 rout of AFC Wimbledon is just the start of something good for himself and Peterborough United
The 24 year-old Swede came off the substitutes’ bench to bag his first two goals of the season. It was his 15th appearance, but that’s a slightly misleading fact as he’s only started two League One games.

He might start some more soon after two clinical finishes completed the scoring in a one-sided contest that saw Posh climb off the bottom of the table. Lindgren slotted home from close range after a superb cross from fellow substitute JJ Morgan and then pounced on a defensive slip to beat the visiting goalkeeper in a one-on-one situation.
After the game, and after he had accepted huge applause from a vibrant home crowd, the striker thanked his teammates and his support group for sticking with him through some tough times.

“I’m really happy as a there has been a lot of dedication and hard work from me,” Lindgren told the Posh Plus service. “I have a lot of good people around me who support me and keep pushing me and my teammates have been vital of course. They drive me on and I really happy to have scored twice as they have been looking out for me.
"I have always believed in myself, but there is always pressure to score goals and it will still be there. I was confident I would score the second goal because I trust myself in those situations and because I had already scored one. My confidence was back. I enjoyed the first one more because I showed the hunger to get a goal. I ran at max speed as I knew JJ had the quality to find me and gave me a perfect pass.
"It was a perfect team performance as we scored some great goals and showed plenty of character. We have a good spirit here and we showed we are far from done. This is just the beginning of something good.”
Lindgren joined Posh for a reported £500k from Swedish football in January. He scored twice on his home debut in an EFl Trophy win over Walsall, but he managed just one further goal, his first in the Football League, at Mansfield Town last April.
