It’s doubtful any Posh fans would argue with the decision to let any of the players on the transfer list leave. Getting rid of them might prove troublesome. though. Two of them were on the transfer list last season and attracted little interest other than loan moves.
That might be the way Posh get the majority of the ‘unwanted eight’ out of the club initially. Fees, apart from nominal ones, are unlikely to be offered for players whose reputations have hardly been enhanced in their time at London Road.
Here, the PT assesses the immediate future of the transfer-listed players including where they might end up.

5. KLAIDI LOLOS
Another bizarre signing from Bolton last season, one based on an attacking player’s form from the 2023-24 campaign when he helped Crawley to promotion from League Two. The 25 year-old never fitted in and started just twice for Posh before he was farmed back out on loan to Crawley in January and was promptly sent off in his first game. Lolos scored once for Crawley and didn’t play after a change of manager. VERDICT: Posh are now lumbered with Lolos for two more seasons if they can’t get rid and there is every chance they won’t as it’s unlikely Crawley will be interested. He needs a footballing team to have a chance of thriving, but not sure there are any in League Two. Maybe Swindon or Crewe? Photo: DAVID LOWNDES

6. GEORGE NEVETT
Ball-playing centre-back who showed some good form for a spell last season, but one horrific display after being called up late to a game at Bradford City in February was enough for current Posh boss Luke Williams to lose interest in a 20 year-old signed from Rochdale in June, 2024 for an undisclosed fee on a four-year contract. A lack of pace and physicality held Nevett back. VERDICT: The Welsh age group international should find another EFL club. He’s another who will be keeping an eye on Rochdale’s Wembley result this weekend. Mabe a relegated League One club like Exeter City would give him a chance as they are set to lose senior players this summer. Photo: Joe Dent

7. DONAY O'BRIEN-BRADY
A midfielder who initially moved to Posh on a one-year contract in August, 2023 after a short trial. That contract was soon extended to the end of next season, but he’s never threatened to hold down a first-team place despite some exaggerated praise from the club chairman as recently as last summer. In three seasons at the club he's started just 26 times. VERDICT: I can see a neat and tidy passer of the ball doing a job for a bottom half League Two club next season, like Gillingham or Newport. The 22 year-old surely needs to get out and play regularly now. Photo: DAVID LOWNDES

8. ABRAHAM ODOH
The little winger did ok in his first season at Posh after moving from Harrogate Town on a three year contract for an undisclosed fee in May, 2024. He scored 11 goals in 50 appearances, including a first-half hat-trick at Crawley. Those numbers dwindled to zero goals from 19 appearances (11 starts) last season. VERDICT: Those first-season numbers should keep him in the EFL at a Fleetwood Town or a Northampton Town. Photo: DAVID LOWNDES
