There was final day heartbreak for a pair of old Peterborough United players on Saturday.
Ricky-Jade Jones returned to action after a long injury lay-off to appear in the final of a crunch relegation battle in the Bundesliga for St Pauli against Wolfsburg. The striker came on as a 77th minute substitute with his team 2-1 down at home to Wolfsburg, but made no impact with the visitors eventually winning 3-1.

It was the 23 year-old’s first season in Germany after leaving Posh last summer. Injuries restricted him to 10 appearances and two goals for a team who finished bottom of the table with just six wins in 34 matches.
Centre-back Kent came on as a 47th minute substitute for Hearts in their Scottish Premiership title decider against Celtic in Glasgow. It was 1-1 at the time, but Celtic scored two late goals to seal a controversial title win. The 30 year-old completed 400 career appearances recently. He made 168 of them for Posh in a four year stay between 2019 and 2023.
Former Posh midfielder Jorge Grant (Salford City) and Ollie Norburn (Notts County) could face off against each other in the League Two play-off final at Wembley on Saturday, May 23 after both sealed semi-final wins on Friday night.
Former Posh players Callum Elder and Joe Tomlinson have been released by Derby County and MK Dons respectively.
Ex-Posh striker Conor Washington has re-signed for Northern Premier League side Matlock Town after a 21-goal season for ‘The Gladiators’ last term. Matlock finished second in the Premier Division East but lost out on promotion through the play-offs.
