Ex-Cobblers and former Peterborough United men plotting to beat Posh at Bromley, past match, form guide, a finicky ref, big match odds
Formr Cobblers and Millwall defender Byron Webster will manage Bromley in their League One fixture against Peterborough United on Saturday.
Webster replaces double promotion-winning manager Andy Woodman who was sacked after Tuesday night’s 4-0 defeat at home to Leicester City, a result that left ‘The Ravens’ next-to-bottom of the table albeit just one point and two places below Posh.

Webster had been coaching at Bromley after finishing his playing career with them.
Former Wycombe Wanderers boss MIke Dodds and former York City manager Stuart Maynard are among the early favourites to replace Woodman.
FORM GUIDE
Bromley won the first League One game in their history 1-0 at Barnsley and they also beat high-fliers Huddersfield 2-1 at Hayes Lane in the middle of September, but they’ve also suffered some crushing defeats including a 7-2 at Sheffield Wednesday and 5-0 at home to Leyton Orient.
PLAYERS TO WATCH
Former Posh defender Jacob Mendy has started five League One games for Bromley, but missed the defeat to Leicester City. Former Posh midfielder Ben Thompson has started three of the club’s 10 games.
Ethon Archer, a winger who scored two outstanding free kick goals for Port Vale at London Road last season, is on loan at Bromley from Luton Town, but has started just one League One match.
Other familiar names in the Bromley squad are former Luton and Millwall midfielder George Saville, ex-Notts County winger Jodi Jones and former Northampton Town midfielder Mitch Pinnock, who once scored a fluke winning goal for Cobblers against Posh.
Free-scoring League Two striker Michael Cheek has found life tougher this season. His sole goal this season arrived on the opening day in a League Cup tie at Reading.
PAST MATCHES
Posh have never met Bromley in a Football League match, but they did clash in a 2018 FA Cup first round tie at Hayes Lane.
Steve Evans’ side looked in trouble when the then non-league outfit took a 40th minute lead, but they saw a man sent off in first-half added time and Matt Godden promptly equalised for Posh. Godden and Joe Ward then added second-half goals to complete a 3-1 Posh win.
MAN IN THE MIDDLE
Ed Duckworth referees Bromley v Posh which won’t go down too well with fans who can recall a pair of finicky performances at London Road last season, including the failure to award a blatant penalty against Stevenage.
Duckworth has been refereeing in the Championship this season and took charge of a 1-1 draw between Wolves and Portsmouth at Molineux.
BIG MATCH ODDS
Posh are 11-10 favourites to win at Bromley tomorrow with Sky Bet with the home side priced at 15-8 and the draw chalked up at 11-4.
Bromley are 4-11 favourites to be relegated this season, also with Sky Bet. Posh are sixth favourites to go down at 23-10 also behind Wimbledon 5-6, Wimbledon 10-11, Barnsley 17-10 and Burton 9-5.
