It’s a vital League One game for both clubs. Posh are flying high and favourites for automatic promotion, while the Cobblers are in the middle of a relegation dogfight.
Form is supposed to go out of the window in a derby, but the journalists who watch the teams on a regular basis are also expecting a Posh win, judging by their player ratings.
The Peterborough Telegraph’s chief sports writer Alan Swann has marked the Posh players out of 10 based on their contributions to the season so far and Northampton Chronicle sports editor Jeremy Casey has done the same with the Cobblers’ players.

9.
WINGER: SIRIKI DEMBELE (pictured) v SAM HOSKINS: Dembele is a terrific talent for this level, one who is impossible to contain if he’s in the right mood. A goal threat and also creates plenty of chances for teammates. Hoskins is a versatile talent who guarantees 100 per cent effort and who will run himself into the ground, but his end product is not always as reliable. Posh win 9-7. Photo: Worthing

10.
FORWARD: SAMMIE SZMODICS (pictured) v DANNY ROSE: An up and down season for Szmodics, but when he’s hot, he’s usually very hot. Works hard for the team and thrives when playing closely alongside Jonson Clarke-Harris. Rose is an industrious front runner who will hassle and harry the Posh defenders, and is very good in the air for his modest size. All too often has to feed off scraps though. Posh win 8-7.

11.
STRIKER: JONSON CLARKE-HARRIS (pictured) v ALEX JONES: Clarke-Harris has enjoyed an incredible season. League One's top scorercould become just the second Posh player to score 30 goals in a single Football League season. Big, strong and deadly. Jones signed in March after a long spell out of game due to injury. He has shown a real spark, desire and targetman nous in his substitute appearances. Ready for a start. Posh win 9-6. OVERALL SCORES: Posh 90, Northampton 80.
