A Football Association citation issued today (March 3) read: ‘It is alleged that the goalkeeper’s behaviour during the 44th minute of the EFL League One fixture against Peterborough United FC on Saturday 29 February amounts to violent and/or improper conduct.’

It’s believed the incident at the Pirelli Stadium occured at a corner with allegations O’Hara bit the arm of on-loan Posh forward Sammie Szmodics.

Szmodics was seen complaining to referee Brett Huxtable, but no action was taken at the time.

It’s understood Posh did not make an official complaint, but there was a photograph circulating at half-time on Saturday which appeared to show the incident.

O’Hara has until Friday 6 March 2020 to respond.
