The teams are separated by 18 places and 12 points in the League One table and City cruised to a 2-0 home win over Posh on the opening day of the season.
Remarkably Posh have scored more goals (11-10) than their hosts, but City boast a remarkable defensive record with just five goals conceded in 12 games. They haven’t conceded a goal in four games since Duff replaced promotion-winning Graham Alexander as manager.
The incentive for victory is huge tonight with a near-guaranteed quarter-final clash with a Premier League to follow. The crowd will be close to 15,000 thanks to heavily discounted ticket price. Posh had sold around 1,000 by last evening.
Duff told the Bradford Telegraph and Argus: “It’s a good draw for both teams. Obviously, we’re at home so it favours us slightly. We just need to go in with the right approach. Football’s got a nasty habit that if you start looking too far down the road, you trip over what’s in front of you.
“They’ve had a lift since Robbie Savage went in. They’ve had some decent results and obviously went to Leicester and won.
“We need to be respectful of what they are while remaining what we are which is aggressive, pressing, and an attacking team.
“I know it sounds silly but the numbers we’ve been putting up are really good.”
“It’s a different manager and they set up slightly different compared the first game this season. It’s a different game of football.
“No two games are the same. No two halves are the same as we saw at Oxford on Saturday.
“Thinking we’ve just got to rock up and will beat them again, that just doesn’t happen.”
