Blackpool boss wants Peterborough United to face a hostile atmosphere at Bloomfield Road on Saturday

Blackpool boss Ian Evatt wants a hostile Bloomfield Road atmosphere for the League One match against Peterborough United on Saturday.

‘The Seasiders’ have been in great form at home in recent weeks, picking up 13 points from their last five games, but they were dragged back into the heat of the relegation battle on Easter Monday when losing 1-0 at Stevenage, while rivals Exeter City were thumping Doncaster Rovers 3-0 at St James Park.

Blackpool are two points above the relegation zone, but also just three points behind 13th placed Posh. Posh have to games in hand and finish the season with four of their last five League One games at home.

Evatt told the Blackpool Gazette: “We knew we aren’t out of it, we knew it isn’t job done yet. We’re in a good position. We’ve obviously got a slight advantage with points on the board, but we’ve got two very important home games that are going to be vital to what happens this season.

"We need this place buzzing to get ready for Saturday. We’ve not got time for heads to drop and to get back into that low energy sulky mode.

“We have to keep this place bubbly and positive. We’ve got a game we can win, but only if we do the things we did for the two weeks prior to today.

“The main thing is it’s still in our hands. There’s going to be ebbs and flows. We’ve been on a really good run of results and we have to keep the positive energy going.

“We need to create a really intense, intimidating atmosphere, and get on the front foot - being a bit braver with the ball to get the three points we need.”

Blackpool’s other remaining home game is against Leyton Orient. They also face trips to Wycombe Wanderers and Reading.
