Jack Taylor and Dan Butler scored the goals, and beauties they were too, but there were many fine individual displays in what manager Darren Ferguson described as an ‘outstanding team performance.’

MARK BEEVERS: Never a moment's worry against busy Brandon Hanlon. He's defending with real authority and his passing was crisp and accurate. 7.5

JACK TAYLOR: Excellent in the middle of the park. Combative and creative and scored a second goal in two games with a superb strike from 20 yards. 8

REECE BROWN: His partnership in central midfield with Taylor is now at last season's levels. They dominated the centre of the park and Brown's passing was precise and played at a good tempo. 7.5

JOE WARD: Now a most reliable forward player. Can't remember him losing the ball much tonight. Crossed the ball okay and set up Szmodics skilfully for a late chance 7.
