AFC Fylde issue statement on reported Peterborough United transfer target Danny Ormerod
AFC Fylde insist they will not be pressured into accepting unacceptable bids for star striker Danny Ormerod, a player recently linked with a summer transfer window move to Peterborough United.
The National League club took the unusual step of releasing a statement on Tuesday afternoon confirming offers have been received for the 20 year-old hotshot, including ‘more than one offer from clubs currently competing in League One.

It’s known League Two side York City had a £500k bid for Ormerod rejected at the weekend.
The AFC Fylde statement read: ‘AFC Fylde can confirm that the club has received a number of formal offers for striker Danny Ormerod, including more than one offer from clubs currently competing in League One.
‘The club has rejected all formal offers received for Danny, including those with a total value of up to £500,000. While we will not comment on the identity of any interested clubs, we can confirm that no agreement has been reached with any club for Danny’s transfer.
"The offers received to date have been rejected because, both in terms of their overall structure and financial value, they do not reflect the club’s valuation of a player we consider to be an important part of our team and a significant long-term prospect for AFC Fylde.
‘Danny has made an excellent start to the new National League season, scoring twice in his opening three appearances, and remains an important part of our plans as we look to build a successful team and achieve our ambitions this season.
‘AFC Fylde is an ambitious club and, as with any player, we will always consider an appropriate proposal should one be received. Equally, we will not be pressured into accepting an offer that does not reflect the value we place on Danny.
‘Until an appropriate offer is received, we consider the matter closed. Our focus is firmly on Friday’s fixture against Forest Green Rovers, and Danny’s focus will be exactly the same.’
Ormerod scored over 30 goals as AFC Fylde won National League North last season.
