A burst water main caused the recent pitch problems at the Weston Homes Stadium
Posh were disappointed in the standard of the playing surface during last weekend’s 4-1 win over Rochdale.
But a water main close to the main stand bursting and causing a leak stemming from a six-inch pipe, led to a build-up of water underneath the playing surface.

“This led to the pitch suffering as the water was building up underneath the surface and combined with the wet weather, made the job for our ground staff extremely difficult.”
Posh are back at the Weston Homes Stadium on Saturday (December 19) when League One promotion rivals Ipswich Town are the visitors.
