Peterborough Sports boss wants to attack unbeaten Anstey Nomads at PIMS Park in a Friday night fixture, plus the local weekend non league action
Peterborough Sports boss Graham Drury is demanding a ‘front foot’ performance from his players when they tackle a powerful Anstey Nomads side at PIMS Park on Friday night (7.45pm kick off).
It hasn’t been the start to the Southern Premier Division Central Sports would have wanted with just two points picked up from four matches. The city side have lost both home games and now host a team who have made an unbeaten start to their season following a promotion last season.

Drury told Peterborough Community Radio: “We can’t take anything less than three points tonight and the lads seem right up for the game. We we will be at it from kick off and we will play on the front foot.
"We’ve worked well in training this week, on our shape, patterns of play and our finishing, but we are playing a very good side who have carried momentum into this season. They have won away at Bromsgrove and anyone who finishes above them will have done well.”

Sports should have star striker Leon Lobjoit back tonight and former Peterborough United youngster Michael Richens is finally free of a four-game suspension that was carried over from last season.
Centre-back Lewis White is also available again to face a team that has former Derby County, Leicester City, Rangers and Ipswich Town forward in their ranks. Waghorn scored a first-half hat-trick for Derby against Posh in a League One fixture at London Road in August, 2023. One-time England international David Nugent is a player coach at Anstey.
Drury will make good use of his entire squad over the Bank Holiday weekend as Sports travel to Needham Market on Monday (3pm). Stamford AFC, who are pointless after four games in the same division host Rushall Olympic on Saturday (3pm) before travelling to Kettering on Monday.
There’s National League North action for Spalding United at home to Worksop Town on Saturday (3pm). They then make the long haul to title fancies South Shields on Monday.
FC Peterborough, Netherton United and Yaxley all have non-league home games on Saturday.
