Peterborough League round-up: FC Parson Drove lay down a marker by ending Netherton United’s perfect start, Stilton United still setting the pace

FC Parson Drove laid down their marker for the Peterborough Premier Division title with a cosy 2-0 win over previously unbeaten Netherton United on Saturday (September 26).

Goals from Lee Eyett and George Smith delivered a 2-0 win for Drove in difficult conditions. The second goal arrived after Netherton forward Ryan Pratt had picked up his second yellow card of the game. Netherton had won their three previous Premier Division games.

Unbeaten Drove are now second behind Stilton United who collected a fourth win in four games at Uppingham Town thanks mainly to Dan Grainger’s hat-trick. Lee Deane also netted in a 4-2 win.

Crowland Town have joined Netherton on nine points after a 3-1 win over struggling Stamford Lions. Danny Firth scored twice.

Perennial title challengers Moulton Harrox made it six points from their two games after coming from behind to win 3-2 at Cardea. The city side had taken an early lead through Tom Klinkovics before accepting a third straight defeat.

ICA Sports wedre held to a 1-1 home draw by lowly Leverington Sports. Scott Spearink scored for the city side.
