Non league preview as former players return to bolster Blackstones survival bid, but pitch inspections planned at local fixtures
Blackstones have bolstered their playing squad in a bid to halt a horrible slide down the United Counties Premier Division North table.
Stones enjoyed a strong start to the campaign after winning promotion from Division One through the play-offs, but a run of one win in 12 games has seen them plummet to within two points and one place of the relegation zone.
Stones have a crunch game at home to Harrowby United on Saturday (3pm kick off) and have re-signed former players Cameron Harris, Luke Hunnings and Martin Tudosa, who has been playing for Bourne Town and Newark Town, ahead of a game against a team just a point and a place above them. Stones also have three games in hand on Harrowby, although there is pitch inspection planned for 1030am tomorrow morning.
Stones have lost the services of Kieran Duffy-Weekes who has retired from football.
Deeping Rangers are just three points ahead of Stones having played one fewer game and they host AFC Mansfield tomorrow.
Spalding United’s faltering title charge in Southern Premier Division Central should kick-start tomorrow as they visit next-to-bottom AFC Sudbury Reserves. Second-placed Harborough are a point behind Spalding, but have three games in hand and visit Bromsgrove Sporting tomorrow.
Stamford AFC are a place above Sudbury and will and bridge a five-point gap to safety by winning at mid-table Stratford.
The National League fixture between Peterborough Sports and Curzon Ashton tomorrow is subject to an 8.40am pitch inspection.
The Thurlow Nunn Division One North game involving Holbeach United tomorrow has already been postponed.
