NON-LEAGUE: Deeping Rangers claim impressive scalp after shoot-out success.

Deeping Rangers claimed an impressive scalp in the first round of the Hinchinbrooke Cup last night (January 19).

Deeping won at unbeaten United Counties Premier Division side AFC Kempston Rovers 6-5 in a penalty shoot out. It was 1-1 after 90 minutes, but Deeping now go on to face struggling Huntingdon Town in the quarter-finals.

Scott Mooney gave Deeping the lead just before the hour mark before the home side equalised with just 13 minutes to go.

Mooney also converted a spot-kick in the shoot-out as did Scott Coupland, Dan Flack, David Burton-Jones, Luke Avis and Scott Tinkler.

United Counties Division One champions-elect Peterborough Sports host leading Thurlow Nunn Eastern Counties Premier Division side Godmanchester Rovers in a mouth-watering quarter-final at PSL next Tuesday (January 26).

Quarter-Finals: Deeping v Huntingdon; Peterborough Northern Star v Stotfold/Eynesbury; Peterborough Sports v Godmanchester Rovers.

Blackstones host Boston Town in a Lincs Senior Trophy semi-final at Lincoln Road, Stamford tonight (January 20, 7.45pm kick off).

Stones play a division below Boston of the United Counties Premier Division. Boston have already knocked Holbeach United and Deeping rangers out of the competition.
